Phil is a lifelong athlete who graduated from university with a degree in Biomedical Engineering and went on to teach himself programming for a number of entrepreneurial ventures he pursued afterward. He spent over a year living from a backpack as an expatriate in Heidelberg, Germany, where he reached fluency in the German language and played indoor volleyball for the HTV Wikinger (Vikings). Now, in addition to being the Sales Engineer here at MadCap Software, he occasionally moonlights as the official statistician for the National Volleyball Association and is a hobby enthusiast who plays tabletop games, computer games, and electric guitar.
